Count in columns from the left, disregard the transitional metals (i.e. purple columns). The one starting with Boron is GIII

I don't understand, you could reiterate that differently?
Look for carbon (atomic number 6)

The column exactly one space to the left of carbon is group III
The column exactly one space to the right or carbon is group VI

I had that before, but Wikipedia said group 5 elements weren't those, ffs so I was right, haha thanks mate!

Look a periodic table count the helium row it starts at 8 count down Fluorine row 7, nitrogen row 5, Boron row 3, skip the gap beryllium 2, hydrogen 1
