Not a fan of the red mirrors but it works under the headlights.

Whilst it may be an epic car, I think the running costs are enough to scare me away from even contemplating this now over say a C63 or M3. It may be ball blistering fast, I think I'd rather put the minor service and oil change money to a mortgage lol.

I never knew how expensive they were to maintain, i assumed they would be cheaper compared to a c63 or M3 due to it being a 'Nissan'.

Even a Porsche 911 would be cheaper to own/maintain... which is what's leading me to think maybe I'd rather just buy a C63 or something when the time is right.

you also bet that my vl would be slower than a gtr even if it was dropped from 35k feet.
> i like your knowledge of terminal velocity.
zuuuuuuu tu tu tu tu...

...

never been a fan of the GT-R... this is coming from a Nissan fan-boy too... sure its fast and shit, but, out of a GT-R and a 911 GT3 I'd choose the latter...

I tailed an R35 on my way home the other night (at like midnight) when coming home from the city via Parramatta Rd. Even when I had to stop at the lights on Wattle St where the safety cam is, the R35 went through and for a long time after, I could still hear it drone from where I was. My car has engine shut off and I had the sunroof open so I could hear it very clearly. Made me think I'm glad I don't have the drone anymore- it used to give me a bit of a headache sometimes (although I do miss the urgency of the Evo).

Conclusion from that was whilst R35 is damn sexy (and in real life, I realised silver looks better than white as I followed a silver one later on the same night), I think I'd rather buy something else whether it be a C63/M3, or even a used Audi R8.

Evo X MR with intake, exhaust, throttle controller and custom tune. Nothing crazy with around 200kW atw with 450Nm of torque. My Benz has only 150kW atw (rear) but 600Nm+.

I can't believe it's another year and another R35 GT-R upgrade: http://www.caradvice.com.au/199359/2013-nissan-gt-r-upgrades-in-detail/

The modifications include improved engine response in the mid to upper rev range, increased body strength and changes to the GT-R’s dampers, springs and front stabiliser.

Nissan says the changes result in significantly improved performance, high-speed stability and better ride quality.

Despite the fact that the 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine’s peak outputs are unchanged at 404kW of power and 628Nm of torque, the various enhancements to the powertrain and chassis have reduced the 2013 GT-R’s 0-100km/h sprint time to just 2.7secs (down from 2.8secs for the 2012 GT-R).
Hopefully this pushes resale values down... which make it even more affordable for the rest of us. All we need are normal mechanics to be able to work on it too!

Which do you prefer? kW vs Torque?

Torque is much more fun in everyday driving. My little 2L engine in a car with a single exhaust pipe which looks so unassuming.... can really climb hills or jump at the lights.

That sucks then, from what Seremify has said about them being a bitch to service, why would you take the risk of not having Nissan Australia to service it to save a measly 12k. It's not that much when you're buying a 100k car.

Yeah I wouldn't be buying grey imports of cars which are in that price range or super high performance vehicles (i.e. where things can and will wear out requiring maintenance). Besides, 'sif not just buy AUDM to get local warranty (or what's left of it) and a local satnav system (I think R35's have this...).

Have you modified your Mercedes? Cause 600Nm seems like a lot from a 2L engine! Our diesel prado only develops about 450Nm. How fast does it go 0-100?

Factory tune- 2.1L twin turbo diesel. 0-100 isn't that fast at 7.1secs (relative to Evo's sub 5).

I dynod' it not too long ago. Posted it up on BoS somewhere but just google "C250 CDI dyno" in Google Images. Mine is the 2nd and 3rd result with Advan Tuning on the dyno chart.
