Hi,
This is a bit awkward but I am asking on my cousin's behalf. She put down the wrong course into the UAC admission centre website and got an offer for UTS"s business degree but only for part time (obviously she wanted to do it full time). The cut-off for that was 90. In reality though, my cousin only got 85 but had 5 bonus marks which is why she made it in. She doesn't want to do another course but full time for business at UTS is 91. There are also no vacancies for full time business after the first round.

Can she still transfer? Can she just ring up UTS and hope for the best they'll change it for her? How does it work? What are the chances of her being able to swap back to full time?

Cheers.

That's a strange situation to be in tbh, i believe in most courses you just choose what load you want to do (full or part time) but they dont have seperate course codes. She should ring up the uni and ask about it, if she's lucky the site will let her enrol in 4 subjects for now. If not i guess she will have to do 2 subjects first semester and transfer internally into the full time course if that is an option.

You are best off ringing or emailing uts as i said, this isn't something you will likely find someone has had experience with on this forum. Even though there are no vacanices left for full time at the moment, make sure your cousin puts it down as first preference still just in case.

You can transfer after half a year?

If so, then thats wayyy better than doing external transfer (trying to get into macq for instance which also has no vacancies) or doing another course (i.e. arts) for a year, right?

P.S. Yeah, its strange alright. Someone really got to remind her that changing preferences at 11:58pm the night before the whole system locks down (3rd Jan) is a big no-no in the future lol :hammer:

If she wants to do business at UTS she shold just do it part time for now if she has to. Could have been worse, she could have put down Kuringai campus by accident. (not that theres anything wrong with Kuringai campus)

You can transfer after half a year, but not for everything so she'll have to check. Tbh though, i wouldn't be surprised if they let you enrol full time after accepting a part time offer - check first though and definitely don't quote me on it!

I'm doing business part time and if I want to I can enrol in more than 2 subjects. I actually find it odd that they have two separate cut off marks for the same course based on whether it is part time or not. They actually used to make the part time cut off mark higher than the full time.

Well, they do have separate codes on UAC. FT is 601030 and PT is 601035

Good luck to your cousin, hopefully she can transfer.
