I am thinking of either joining the Young Liberals or Young Labor. I have no idea which one would represent my beliefs, my beliefs being economically progressive, and social conservative. A rare combination to find in any political party, I am too wet to be in the Liberals, yet too dry to be in Labor. So, which one would best suit me do you think? I should also add, that I am thinking of getting a job in the civil service, bureaucracy when I graduate. So, I have to take that into account, as well as the negative ramifications having something to do with Young Liberals/Labor could have on future job prospects. If they do have negative ramifications?
Cheers,

Neither.

There is no centre with these student politics groups.

Can't tell if this is a troll or not lol. IMO if you aren't sure which one to join, you shouldn't be joining yet. As for the impact on job prospects, well... you should be smart enough to figure this one out yourself but remember just like your views on where your political beliefs lie, the potential impact on job prospects aren't absolute black or white.

This is not a troll lol. I have been wondering for a while, because the political parties seem to be brimming with student life. Granted, I am not sure but this is my last year, so either I make a decision now or forget about it all together. Concerning Social Conservatism, that is more traditional society, with Economically Progressive, for me that would be allowing everyone to reach their full potential with help from the government. Granted with the impacts on jobs, perhaps I should join something else which nurtures their youth similar to these parties, but more partisan than bipartisan.

Why don't you make some friends that aren't complete scum?

The only difference between the two are which part of sydney they hate. Labor hates anything east of Granville and Libs hate anything west of Central.

I suggest you join Young Labor. You could become the most socially conservative and most economically progressive leader that the Labor Party has ever had. Student politics is a great way of building up your self confidence.

Please don't lol. I've heard of someone having to get their number changed after being harassed by some socialist group at uni.

The Democratic Labor Party are economically 'progressive' and socially conservative, and are severely underrepresented in the youth politics scene.

Join the right wing brother. Fucking leftist pricks on this planet are stuffing the world up. Right wing is the order of nature, the way to go, the fundamental laws of a successful society are rooted in the right wing. RIGHT RIGHT and MORE RIGHT.

If you want to be a member of the party which is actually in government at the end of this year, then join the Young Liberals lol :)
