I'm pretty sure some of you guys have seen this question or heard of it.

There's a shirt for $97 dollars, so you borrow $50 from your mum and $50 from your dad, you have $100.
You buy the shirt with $3 left, $1 dollar goes to your mum and $1 to your dad so you have $1 left.
Now you owe your Mum $49 and your dad $49 and you have $1 yourself.

What happened to the missing $1?

*Facepalm* You borrow a total of 100. You have 3 dollars change, you give 1 dollar to your mum and 1 dollar to your dad so you have 1 dollar left. You owe your mum 49 and dad 49 and you have 1 dollar left, 49+49+1 = 99.

It's not 49+49+1 = 99, it's 49+49-1 = 97 because the one dollar is subtracted off the loan you owe to your parents

What missing dollar? Why should the sum of the debt you have to your parents and the amount of money in your wallet be 100?
