I am currently doing bachelor of economics 1st year.

Now with all honesty, I have donne "0" and I mean NOTHING from the start of this semester till now. I have not opened my textbook once.

The reason? I really dont know. I was just trying to socialise at uni and take it cool and suddenly I am infront of my first mid sem assesments and I want to kill myself.

Now I want to start studying now but I CANT. WHY?

because when I look at the given homework/work currently I have ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE WHATSOEVER what I am doing.

Please help me give me options for my life.

Even if I start now studying I probably will fail most of my core subjects since I've ignored my homework and assignments and and dead close to an absent fail.

Maybe this course is not right for me?? or maybe I am just not trying so I dont know...

Should I quit uni? Is there anyway I can start again?? from sem 2?????? From scratch???

Please just give life options right now.

Why? Because it is human nature to feel intimidated when the work pile starts to stack up. If you already paid and its past the census date you may as well keep going to see what happens and even if you "fail" then you can start semester 2 with some idea of the knowledge

I'm assuming you're a usyd student given the amount you post in the USyd forums. We have a free counseling services at uni in the Jane Foss Russell building with professionally trained people who can give you help and also assist you in learning to focus and study.

They talk walk-in appointments, or you can look at the website/call them to make an appointment here.

If you honestly believe you are 'psychologically messed up', I strongly recommend you go see them and they can refer you to the right places to get help. They also run programs to do with focusing and study and such.

If you're in a position where you 'want to kill myself' and are not saying that as hyperbole, please get immediate help.

Yes, it is possible.

But considering the other threads you have posted recently, you should keep in mind how to balance your studies and put the work in so you don't end up in the same position again.

different courses often have different requirements for mid-year entry. Some don't allow it because of pre-req subjects and such. You should look at the course you want to do, and investigate whether it offers mid-year entry.

Ive had enough. 100 percent gonna fail this elective. Pls help with options.

Im currently doing bachelor of economics and im f'n had enough
Of this elective I chose which is bus1030.

I am just not gonna try anymore, meaning im pretty much purposely gonna fail because
I get terrified (no jokes) at the boredom.

Whhat are my options right now?
I regret the bone of choosing this subject as an elective since for b.eco u get 4 compulsary
And any other 4 of ur choice and I cant beleive I chose it.

Is it possible to quit the course now so I dont get a fail??

Also if I fail does it show up on my transcript at the very end
Of uni cuz its so embarassing. if I replace that uos with another next sem and
Do well is it possible to not let employers sre that I failed that subject?

Again, trying this course till the end is not an option im freaking donr.

I MUST change this subject I accidently chose for second semester.

If u can change when and how can u?

Maybe you should just suck it up and do it properly. Failing now isn't a worthwhile option. It's a first year subject, a lot of them aren't going to be what you want to do later in life.

I've learnt entire first year subjects in under a week, so it's not like it's impossible to catch up. Stop trying to weasel out of it, put in the hard work and get it done.

Choices are:

1) Do nothing and fail.

2) At least try and maybe not fail.

I don't go to USYD but i imagine your census date is well past by now, so no, you cannot drop a unit without incurring academic and financial penalty (ie. you receive a fail and still have to pay for the unit).

Fails remain on your transcript regardless of whether you redo the unit or not, the only way to get rid of them is to start fresh at a new university.

BUSS1030, accounting?
It isn't the most exciting course but it CERTAINLY is NOT boring. (love it - how can you not love Abdul).
You can't quit anymore, you will get a fail - waste of money + time. its on the 29th, you have a heaps of days to study and pass it (at least).
I didn't read everything you wrote but whatever problem you have, speak to USYD business school office. BOS isn't the best place.
also, if you need any explanations of anything, feel free to pm me.

Re: Ive had enough. 100 percent gonna fail this elective. Pls help with options.

The census date has passed, so you still have to pay for the subject, BUT you can Discontinue Not Fail (DNF) before Friday 26th April. If you do this, you will NOT fail the subject. You will NOT get a fail mark on your academic transcript, but you will get a DNF. This tells any future employer that you did not fail the subject, but discontinued it.

You can look more at important dates in this thread http://community.boredofstudies.org/showthread.php?t=301408

You don't need to give a reason. Just go to the faculty office and fill out the form. They will accept it immediately, but might recommend you speak to an advisor (you don't have to if you don't want to).

Yes it is possible to DNF only one subject.

Don't worry about all the other stuff, you only need to fill out some paperwork which will take less than 5 minutes.
