Can u get hired into big4 with a b.eco? and also with a non accounting major?


Cuz apparently most have a b.commerce with a major in accounting..

Yes,but don't exactly expect to be working in the accounting sections, doing accounting work. You would need at least an accounting major to participate in most jobs at the big4, but you may get into something like risk management or transaction advisory (?), either way if you aren't doing an accounting major focus more on the big 4 banks(or government), where more jobs lay with an economics major (I'm assuming). There's already more then enough accounting major students applying,which you mean you would need to show a much higher effort for them to train you from scratch(i think big 4 firms still advertise for non-accounting backgrounds?).

Yeah sorry, I contradicted myself a bit at the beginning and end. I'm meant to say you'll need to show/prove at a higher level then someone whos already doing an accounting major, as you'll need to tell them why you didn't choose an accounting major from the start, and to spend extra time training you etc.

correct, and you won't be penalised later on for it however you will be expected to do a bridging course (e.g. deakin) to get up to a minimum standard, and then complete the CA program. after that, everyone is on an even level.
