Hey guys, just wanting to know whether a degree (Single and/or combined) in Statistics is good for job prospects, like can it lead you into getting a good, well paid job without worrying about anything. Also, is a Statistics degree worth studying? Thanks !

If you want statistical knowledge, you should consider studying a psychology degree. Especially somewhere like University of Newcastle, the degree is about 50% statistics and will teach you other skills as well.

Yes.

But like with any degree what you study does not necessarily determine your job prospects. Other factors come in as well.

oh kk, i thought statistics was maths based?
Depends.

Mathematical statistics is very much mathematics, but everyday statistics or using a package does not necessarily require a thorough understanding of mathematics.

Statistics and mathematics are generally useful, but simply having them is not enough and having them isn't necessarily essential. The comment I'll make here in addition to this is that pre-university and university education in statistics and mathematics is appalling and letting down Australia.
