No. Your school specifies the amount. My trials are all worth 30%, except legal which is 40%.

so like if i completely bombed out in one of my trial exams it wont affect my atar or external mark?

Of course it will.

E.g. if you get 40% for a subject and the average was 75%, your rank will obviously go down. Your rank is important as it formulates your moderated assessment mark. It will affect your OVERALL ATAR, but not the EXTERNAL MARK because that's what you get in the final exam. Remember, your final ATAR is the average of your moderated assessment mark and your external mark (exam at the end).
