Hey guys, I'm in my last term of year 11/first term of year 12 right now and I'd like to get an estimate of my ATAR if I carried my prelim ranks over consistently into yr 12. Just so to work out if I need to improve or not, and which subjects to drop. I'm aiming for 90+ ATAR. This thread has been edited for my semester 2 ranks (and I've dropped Modern History).

Subject ranks:
English advanced -11/140
Maths 2u - 40/130
Maths 3u - 35/117
Business Studies - 3/32
Economics -15/60
Visual Arts - 1/9

School rank in state: 39 (Girraween High)

1st semester subject ranks:
English advanced -36/140
Maths 2u - 42/137
Maths 3u - 61/117
Business Studies - 6/32
Economics -30/61
Modern History - 25/38
Visual Arts - 1/9

The real questions you should answer are the following?
1) How vital is it for you to study?
2) How much effort did you put in?
3) How well is your motivation?
4) What do you regard your academic ability out of ten marks (10 means you think you will get ATAR 99.95, 5 means you will get ATAR 50 and zero means you will fail the HSC. A guide to this final question is what is your average mark for the subjects you have studied in your preliminary.

1) Very.
2) Relative to year 10, where I didn't get a single mark above 90%, a lot. But I know I can put in even more effort.
3) I'm self-motivated, but also easily distracted.
4) 8-9/10. Average mark would be between 85-90%.

@nexusbrah: you're a friend of abhi bhogal. I'm his buddy in Visual Arts :p
