I don't think they care... I still have my laptop which I cracked the screen by sneezing and dropping it onto my knee :(

My school laptop has been in my locker for 1 year, in the same place, not even moved by 1cm (I don't use the locker). I'm sure it's having a great time collecting dust.

your school one? or the one you use
The school one works well (last time I tried it 1.5 years ago anyway LOL), but overheats sometimes I think...

I've broken probably 6 personal laptops in the last year...

Inadvertently, but I'm starting to think I'm predisposed to breaking laptops, e.g. I woke up and accidently fell on the screen before.

Are you doing HSC this year? You could get your laptop unlocked by the TSO and that would erase any doubt

I burnt my laptop (first gen red laptop). It made a great substitute for firewood.

Well by now you should have a note for "Student Transfer of Ownership" from your school so you can unlock your laptop - afterwards you will be able to obtain transferable copies of Microsoft Win7 Ultimate Operating System (OS), Microsoft Office 2010 Professional (Student Edition) and Microsoft Anti-virus - your laptop BIOS will be unlocked as well
