I know we need to make reference to variants in Christianity but does this apply to Islam as well? And if so how would I do so, would I just briefly mention sunni and shia?

For Islam, I'll just make references to Sunni and Shi'a when I am discussing IVF (bioethics), otherwise there isn't differences between variants in everything else I feel.

Even if you state that there is no particular difference in the view of variants, that counts as discussing variants lol
