I know this question may have been asked somewhere before-but I am just in a panicked state of mind so I can't really think clearly-what do you actually do if you don't have your TFN? Do you just click continue or you can't proceed until you have one?

i think you wait until you get one. you can do this in a day. apply online here: http://www.ato.gov.au/Individuals/Lodging-your-tax-return/In-detail/TFNs/Tax-file-numbers/

and then go make an appointment at a australian post office (bring a passport or your birth certificate and some cards) to verify your identity and then they mail it to your house

But does that mean I can't make my university timetable until then? Do we make a new uni timetable each semester? Is it much quicker to get a TFN if I just go to the ATO myself?

Click continue and see what happens. Or I'm sure you could just say no to the HECS now and update that later.

Anyway is it ok to have lectures and tutorials back to back and what do people usually do in the 1 hour in between?

Couldn't seem to manually select classes for a better timetable so I had to autogenerate one ... could the timetable be changed at a later date (soon), and where and how?

Cheers fellow UNSW'ers!!

How is this guys?

you will be trekking from upper campus down to lower campus on tuesday at 11. Not as bad as the other way around but you might be a bit late to your next class depending on when your tutor lets you off. Some tutor finish 10 min before hand while some finish exactly on the hour (dont know why not like they are getting paid more :D)

and yes its fine to have classes back to back as long as they are near each other. IN your timetable they are pretty much next to each other with the exception of the two tutorials on Tuesday.

It's ok to have them back to back but I always check to see if they are close to one another location wise cos I don't want to be running to class from different ends of the campus. If I left 1 hour between all my classes, I may as well sleep at uni lol.

yes just click update enrolment and swap classes. You have until the end of 1st week Semester 1 to change classes but by then, most spots have been filled. I would try and fix it by tomorrow because most times will be filled up by tomorrow night.

Yes.

I might have lunch in a one hour break, walk around, meet up with friends, study... tons of things to do. You can even sleep at the library beanbags if you want.

oh yeah

never EVER auto-enrol

In a few days, when everyone else has probably enrolled and there's no chance of people stealing the spot - unenrol from your courses, and then re-enrol manually by picking classes as you would've. Click "Add Classes" I think instead of "auto-enrol".

Where do you suggest I move MGMT? Would after the ECON1101 tut on Tuesday be fine?
