Yeah we're separated
Ahh ok makes sense. Yeah I'd say it's not as impossible as it looks atm. Look at it this way

To get an atar of 97 at CTHS (aka get a b6 in each of these subjects) you generally need to:
Top 20-25% in Advanced English
Top 12.5% in Chem
Top 6% in Physics (statistically CTHS' worst subject by a fair bit out of your subjects)
Top 25% in Maths
Top 25% in MX1
Top 10% in Eco
Top 12.5%-15% in Business (assuming that you'd get over 90 and it'd outscale Phys)

Obviously you would want to get a stronger position since you are going for 99+

Has anyone had a chemistry prac task yet? Have one next week, just wanted to see if others have and if you have how it was structured as in if it was based more on skills or on content.

Haha Wow Thanks For the Stats :D

+ I'm actually not sure as to whether I should be aiming for 99 + ATAR :/ The only reason I aim to achieve it is because I have absolutely no idea as to what my occupation will be in the future :/

Umm tbh although getting 99+ is definitely a great achievement in terms of getting into uni courses you're really better off aiming for 99.65-7 if you are going for the 99s (since your options aren't really opened by getting 99 unless you get eas points of elite performer points). By getting mid 99s you could do aerospace engineering at USyd and with the 99.65-7 there's USyd/UNSW law and I think mechatronics engineering or something like that is up in the high 99s as well.

With a 98 you could do Psych at UNSW (iirc Psych was 97 at USyd), B Arts in Media/Comm or Languages at USyd (I think that's 98.5) as well as B Comm (Liberal Studies), Adv Maths, some applied sci courses and some Engineering course that I have forgotten about at Usyd. Also there's combinations with Law at UTS which go for high 97s/low 98s. I think the Vet course at USyd also requires mid 97s or mid 98s.

Obviously if you are going for med then you have to aim for an ATAR as high as possible.

I think year 11 would probably be the best time to see what you can do, since if you find the career you want to go into it makes it easier to make your atar goal and put in steps to achieve said goal.

Usually such tests are based slightly more on skills than on content-there is a greater emphasis on testing column two of the syllabus.

Loving this advice :D

What are you doing in Uni at the moment?

+ How did you go in the HSC ATAR wise?

People who do Chemistry I need your help!!!

Would you be required to draw up a Lewis Dot Diagram during an exam because I'd checked the syllabus which hadn't required./mentioned it?

I was just curious as my class had covered them :/

We spent the last two lessons doing Lewis dot diagrams and my teacher said they would only be a small amount of questions based on them in the test. However, I still think you should know how to do them

I hate those stupid diagrams. I dont even get how to do them.

Im so lost im chem and bio. Apparently weve "finished" a local ecosystem in bio, but they never told us what activities we are meant to finish up to in our textbook and we started a new topic but they are just never clear with what they want us to do.

Ive lost all hope with my stupid school.
