Okay I have a past paper here for physics and I can't work out the answer to this question and its really bugging me:

A student completed an experiment on light intensity, measuring the intensity of the light at positions P, Q and R. The light source and positions P, Q and R are equally spaced. At position P, the intensity was 400 units. At position Q, intensity was 100 units. What was the intensity at point R?

So in a diagram, you have it;
(Light) -- P -- Q -- R

If you can figure it out, please tell me how you did it!! Thanks :)

Iirc, the intensity of the light is related to the inverse square law.

I won't give you the answer , but I hope you can infer that from the hint!!

Good luck :)
