Hey,

So I recently applied for a bunch of postgrad courses at MQ through UAC, and at the moment all my preferences have "eligible - subject to being competitive" written under them. I've read the UAC explanation of what that means but I'm still kind of confused. Does it mean i wasn't good enough to give an offer to straight away? Is it even likely I'll get an offer?

I know I should probably just wait it out and not panic about it, but getting into the Masters program I want is super important and not really knowing my chances makes me ridiculously anxious.

Thanks :)

It means that you are eligible for that course, and it may be competitive. They say that the course may be competitive for every course, even the non popular ones.

You met the requirements, now you should wait for their response.

Good Luck!

In short, you are eligible to be an applicant. However, your marks and qualifications need to be good enough (essentially) to receive a final offer.

Explanation - ''You have no outstanding selection criteria that will prevent you receiving an offer to this course, but this does not guarantee an offer as your qualifications must be competitive compared to all other applicants.''
