guys : to follow a timetable or daily 'to-do- list?
Know I'm a 2015er, but you might be interest in this as a fellow IPT student. I am doing a bit of a combo. I made a database in IPT for my minor project to track all my tasks and then whenever I work I log the time. Then I can see days where my average work time is lower and I also am tracking my motivation and productivity so I can see at what time of day I work best. The database also makes things like pie charts so I can see which subjects I should be spending more time on and whether I am avoiding any (cough cough English).

Don't do any homework aside maths (unless its useful). Pretty much if its worth nothing or will contribute little to your exam preparation, screw it.

Time management is crucial. Know when your assessments are and plan everything backwards.

Keep working regardless of crap or good results especially

Take a break after assessments too

Don't fail english otherwise it'll rek your ATAR

This sounds really dumb but work on your handwriting (especially for essay-intensive subjects) because legibility actually makes a really big difference.

Also maintain a balance. If you finish X amount of work, reward yourself accordingly - but don't do bad trade-offs like "I finished this math exercise with 5 questions, going to play 6 hours of LoL"

Remove yourself from people that are overly competitive and psyche you out. It is actually insane how this can affect your state of mind, especially before exams. Surround yourself with supportive people because your friends will actually be your rock during the HSC.

Speaking from experience, don't let the freedom of others distract you during the HSC exam period. A lot of my friends finished earlier than me and I spent a bit of time sulking about that, as opposed to studying harder for my exams LOL so stay focused and diligent right until the very end!!

Peer marking and study groups help so much, so trade essays with your cohort or people you trust and get them to give you feedback. Remember the HSC is about your cohort's collective performance, so you want everyone to do well!!

If you want to chat about the upcoming year, feel free to PM me :)

If you have a 'noisy' class, and can't work in that enviroment ask if you can leave/study elsewhere if its a working by yourself lesson..

Do pastpapers/questions and hand them into teachers to mark..
Yep this is literally one of my main study tips. I did this very consistently in the last term of school and was able to raise my results by 5+ marks in most of my subjects. Seriously, do it.

Time yourself as well in writing essays or doing other sections of an exam. It trains you to manage your time better in exams. I tried to improve my speed throughout my last term of school and was able to write about 3-4 more pages than in the HSC than I was in Trials.

One thing I've learnt too after getting my results is to trust your own ability and trust your own preparation. I never really thought I had it in my to get anything above 80 in the HSC and I walked away with a 90. Tried hard, and you WILL get what you deserve.

Don't waste time writing your own notes, there are heaps online ready to go!

Don't focus on your marks during the year, focus on your rank! Obviously you want to get good marks too, but ranks are overall more important.

Don't waste time on the subjects you are already good at! Its going to take a lot more work getting from a 95-100 in english, than it would be getting from a 75-85 in maths!

Have a social life, make sure you keep doing sport, but go out with friends too! Its not worth killing yourself studying the whole time, you'll burn out my the time exams come around!

DONT WAIT UNTIL THE WEEK BEFORE TO STUDY FOR THE ACTUAL HSC EXAM!
Because, like me, you will get very sick with tonsillitis and have 0 motivation to study.

Make sure you're doing subjects you enjoy and are good at, if you have enough units, drop the extra subject weighing you down. I dropped EX1 maths a month before the HSC and still got 93 in 2U, despite everyone (including teachers) that without EX1 I would get 80 or so.

:) :) :)

DO NOT do extension 2 english as your 10th unit. Too many ATARs I know of have taken a hit because their external mark was significantly lower than their internal mark.

Work steadily on your major works. The holidays are a great time to get some of it done.

Read around all your texts for Englishes, especially if you're doing EE2 Critical

Your weakest subject is your most important.

Remember to breathe. Vicks inhaler sticks are great for that. Goodluck havefun

a raw of around 68 would align to a final of 81 for HSC Advanced English.

Wtf! I got 88 raw in the trials - questions were from the Catholic paper I think. I fucked up so much!
