I spend too much time on Maths Homework (1 Viewer)

It's not that I'm doing too much questions, but some questions I don't know how to do I repeat them a few times to see if I can do it at the end but I can't. I also ask on this website and that all takes quite some time for me to understand it. What do I do so I don't spend alot of time on my maths homework?

Only do the easy questions until you get it

Focus on the harder questions and past paper questions

I hope you're not using MIF

MIF is very well suited if you're not 'understanding' the basics.

As enigma said, work on easy questions until you understand them, then move onto the harder questions. I suggest you use atleast two textbooks, since 1 textbook doesnt have everything. I'd recommend Fitzpatrick since it has good examples and has a range of questions, you can also buy a book which has working out and answers to that book. Cambridge is also good, it is a little more challenging.

If you're having trouble with homework, I think it would be helpful to ask your friends or even your teacher. I know I had quite a few questions every lesson. Sometimes my problems end up being silly mistakes, other times they were genuinely difficult questions. In this case, just asking your teacher during maths lessons, when other people's working on classwork, can really alleviate the struggles of figuring out harder questions at home. HSC's all about managing time properly, and spending 40min on a homework question is not efficient, especially when it could be solved by an explanation by a friend/teacher in 5min. It's also essential that you don't end up skipping a lot of questions you don't know how to do, as this can be detrimental later on ): But instead ask for help from people around you, whether they be your friend, tutor or teacher. Just ask you friends when you have trouble or get the teacher to help you. generally if you have trouble on a question skip it and come back after you've done the rest because you might have used a similar method in a another question. Also if your trying to get the hang of a topic you can always try khan academy or look at example questions (MIF in not good for this)

Yeah I'm always asking my teacher, I've only been feeling/stressing for maths lately because of the topic Integration, also EVERY SINGLE maths class goes so quick, basically every single maths class routine goes like this:

- Homework questions from students for 40mins
- Learn new concept in last 10min

From the little info you have provided, it appears you are finding your Maths hard. In that case, it can means many things:

- it is beyond you
- you have the potential to cope, but have not been learning well or have not been taught well (if your classmates are coping well, then probably, problem lies with you)
- you are approaching it all wrong - you need personalised help from a very good tutor (not necessarily one with ATAR 99.95)

It's not that I'm find maths hard, it's just that the integration topic is annoying me, we've already done I think 2 to 3 topics and found them easy. Also I do think that I've not been taught well in class, we've got this really annoying kid who thinks he's the teacher himself and basically answers other people's questions when he's not even that helpful. Sorry I don't live near your area, I would have liked to visit you to know my weaknesses.
