She sent them to me on my email so nothing public but they're so cringey...
Well at my school, my friends like to make memes of one another, so there is nothing more cringey, yet funny, than looking through the memes of embarrassing moments of your friends (and yourself of course)

Man I'm wasting my time on BoS, even seeing other people talking less here just makes me think what am I still doing here? We've all got trials coming up and and it's starting to get hectic now. I'm using this post as some sort of "goal", to not browse/post on this forum unless if I need help with a question.

For me it is, literally all I do is just go on BoS and refresh the page like every 10mins to see new posts/threads that are not even important to me. I do nothing beneficial here other than post Maths questions I can't figure out.

BOS will always be here.
Your hsc exams are only here once.
Unless you spend so much time on here that you actually fail it so badly you can't get an ATAR and choose to repeat.

The choice isn't so hard to make now is it?

If they actually accentuate your writing and makes sense, then yes use it.
Often people force themselves to sound more sophisticated than they actually are and trust me, for teachers it's so obvious.
So if sophistication in style or vocabulary doesn't come naturally to you, then don't worry. You can get really high marks as long as you answer the question.

My advice would to be to first focus on answering the question, doing the basics such as topic sentence, techniques etc., and once you have that down, then worry about your delivery as a whole in terms of your 'sophistication'.

Dont worry :) it actually doesn't help with anything. You're not truly screwed until you let your worries consume your mind. Even if you don't manage to improve your english skills by then, worry + shit english skills = shit mark, calm + shit english skills = slightly less shit mark.

Try to find what the markers are looking for in each module, e.g. area of discovery = insightful understanding of the theme in relation to the question, module A = context etc. If your vocab isn't good (like mine) don't worry too much. My first priority is always to have a logical progression of ideas that answers the question. Then (or sometimes never) comes the sophistication and flair. Also -> read practice essays that received good marks. Before half yearlies my teacher passed around essays from last year's cohort, and although they were totally irrelevant in terms of texts, I just read through them to see things like how long, what they said in the intro, etc. and tried to mimic it as best as I could. My teacher also told me not to get too bogged down by creative writing, like srlsy it only counts for 15% of the hsc meh work on your essays first

Personally, last year I sucked shit at english (50-60% in half yearlies etc). This year, I've had some really good marks (full even) and other really mediocre marks (but still better than last year). I feel like these marks are luck-based to an extent but on the other hand I feel like constant average-good results isn't purely a fluke and maybe I'm slightly better??!?

Overall, no matter how shit your mark is, don't get knocked down and keep on trying different methods. You'll have setbacks and disappointments along the way, but what else can you do? Good luck ><

Wow thanks for the advice, I really needed it and i actually feel better now :> I had the same feeling as now when i was doing prelim maths in yr10 (basically fked the whole course up except for the yearly) The problem is that i don't understand why i got low marks, i read the comments the teacher made but it makes no sense why i lost so many marks ;_; I'm usually a B range student but suddenly dropping to C really riled me up....

ARGHHHH I'm so screwed... I gave my modern history essay in for some feedback which is due next week but I couldn't follow what she was advising. Now I'm stuck. I thought my structure and content was fine :/

What do you guys do to study for math? I've got the basics down, but how should I spend this week effectively - doing what?

Harass her until you understand then.
That's what I did to my teachers.

Maths is all about repetition.
Do a large amount of practice questions in order to familiarise yourself with the different styles of questions they can ask on the same topic.
