Hey there!

So a lot of people say these:
1.) Internal marks don't matter, but your ranks do.
2.) Gaps between student's marks will matter.
3.) External marks will affect your internal marks.

Are these true? If so, can someone explain to me what these mean?

does it really matter? its not like you can change your ranks at this stage. the most you can do now is smash your externals (hsc exams).

Well I did come first for everything except English... I was just curious on how it works, but you're absolutely right.

since you are coming first for most of your subjects. you'll receive the highest examination mark as your internal mark and your external mark is your exam mark. add them together and divide by 2 would give you your hsc mark.

I see. It's an interesting system. Someone said though that the gap between the first student and the second student will cause a problem the bigger it is.

I think that will only cause a problem for the second student, unless the second student beats the first in the externals.

Long story short, if you're first internally, you don't need to worry about internals too much if you think someone in your cohort will do well externally. Just focus on your external.
