For what values of k does x^2 - kx + 4 = 0 have no real roots? I know how to find k but I don't know how to write my final answer, the final answer for this question is - 4 < K < 4, but how do I know to write it like this?

-4 is less than x, which is less than 4. That's how you 'say' it. So by graphing it you can see, the x values are between -4 and 4, hence -4 < x < 4
