if I wrote the CORRECT answer somewhere in my working out but then when I restated it under it away from the mess of algebra INCORRECTLY (I think I left the 1/2 off) would I lose a mark??? this is such a dumb mistake I'm not forgiving myself

Transcription error, you'll still get the mark (assuming the marker spotted the correct answer in your working out).

If only the last question was a harder projectile or binomial, it's not skill, it's silly mistakes that separate people

They most likely made the paper easier intentionally in response to the decreasing number of students taking calculus courses.

The last time a moderately difficult binomial question was put in the paper was 2011 HSC.

Definitely E4. As for what mark it aligns to, I am estimating 94-95. Leaning more towards 94.

Maybe considering the exam was easier than previous years because that mark would've earned you an E4 for every other year so who knows.

hmmm I know like pretty much everyone on here did well but truthfully from a public school ranked in top 100, my friends didn't really do that well and these are the 'top kids' of 2u and 3u. I think most people dropped the 4 marks for binomial and couldn't solve the last 2 parts of projectile. The 4U kids aced it though LOL. I mean I would be grateful if 59/70 is e4 but if not an e3 is fine too I guess hahah

nah 59/70 will most likely be 90-93. The aligned marks change quite drastically compared to 4u. Every raw mark or 2 will raise your exam mark by like 1-2. Then again, this years exam was really easy.

If they were prepared they would have known that to get rid of odds you let x=-1 , pretty common textbook questions to multiply everything by x too, and yeah I can understand, considering I read somewhere that the median atar in some year was 69
