$$ You do the shifty $ x = \frac{1}{u} $ substitution and add the two dummy variables to end up with $ : \\ 2I=\int_0^{\infty}{\frac{1}{x^2+1}}dx$

Yes well done, alternatively $x= \tan u$ and then $v = \frac{\pi}{2} - u$ , adding up the integrals in u and v to get what you have.

A simple reversal of the product rule does away with the integral. The hard part is figuring out how to split the algebraic part.

Using the given formula and one application of integration by parts, it can be shown that $ C_n $ satisfies the recurrence relation $ C_n = \frac{C_{n-1}}{n} + \frac{1}{n \times n!} $ with initial condition $ C_1 = 1 $. It can be proven by induction that $C_n = \frac{\sum_{m=1}^{n}\frac{1}{m}}{n!}$

$\int_{-a}^a \frac{\text{d}x}{b+x^{2 n-1}+\sqrt{b^2+x^{4 n-2}}}$
