Proposition 1: If a person is wearing a hat, they must have a head.

Proposition 2: I am not wearing a hat.

Conclusion: Therefore, I do not have a head.

State the fallacy in the above argument.
Dammit, I spent a few weeks on this, by the end of the day if I haven forgotten I'll get back to you with an answer for that, the textbook had an example that was very similar to this one
Out of curiosity, do you's study the morning of a test? or do you relax?

I went to bed at 8.30 last night, and spent around 15 minutes reading notes for each ah & m.

I feel like when I study in the lead up, I get worked up and don't perform as well.
The advice we were given is the night before an exam, have a nice dinner, a nice relaxing bath, go to bed early to get a good sleep, and do not cram.
If it's not in there an hour before the exam it's not gunna stay in there.

This is only mostly true. If you force one little thing into your short term memory, and then use your reading time to find if you will need it or not, it will get glued.

Of course, the point still remains that the overall statement is ineffective. Because there's the problem that it's only one thing!

If it's a small amoun if holes that need filling I think it's ok to cram, if it's a large amount tho eugh

On the day of my HSC chemistry exams I knew I still had some gaps in my learning but I also knew what was likely going to be in the exam (a few of my classmates discussed the likelihood of x being examined this year and tbh we were right for almost all of our predictions). So what I did was whilst the students and I gathered around waiting for the exam I asked some last minute questions that kept seeping out of my mind despite how much I studied for it.

Went in and boom I had answers.

Fair enough, for my ancient exam last year I found that 90% of what I went over the day before left my mind, especially the placement of some of the inscriptions for Hatshepsut.

The more you cram the less effective it becomes. Fact.

Knowledge is inversely proportional to cramming

I remember in Preliminaries, on the same day as Physics yearly examination, I had an Economics examination.

Studied 2-3 weeks for PHYSICS and got 60-ish%
Crammed all six topics(obviously all the important stuff like the monetary and fiscal policies, labour markets and unemployment etc...) in an hour before Economics and got 95%

Life is like wow

That probably has to deal with the fact that
a) You probably actually listened in economics during prelim LOL
b) Physics didn't make sense at the time

a) Teacher doesn't really teach in class, legit *hands out notes all day* and the rest is up to you - more self-study? Nothing to listen to, HUEHUEHUEHUEHUE
b) God, Preliminary Physics was so hard when I compare it to HSC Physics RN OA O Like wtf

Mmmh! That too, but it was more the effort I put into it that I was comparing, I hope that doesn't happen in HSC where I'm putting effort into Physics and not getting the results I would like to get.

I guess you must naturally get Eco + comm more than physics

Even if you don't get the marks you want, is it gonna be in your top 10 units ?

If not.. You can drop it some time down the track

I got handed out a ton of sheets for chemistry and I still liked it. Though to say the least my teacher did explain them to quite a noticeable extent at least.
