Whats everyones mathematical kryptonite?
Mine personally is....financial maths. Anything related to money, interest, comission and all that shit and im gone. This is partially why i did 4u, dont have to deal with the shitty finance.
Curious as to see what everyone says. I know probability is a common weakness

Yeh integration is pree fun as well, but there's something about the flair in harder 3u that appeals to me more. Especially the inequalities.
How I felt about harder 3u:
- Induction - easy
- Inequalities - at least beautiful, but was mind twisting at times
- Circle geometry - fun
- Perms and combs - ew, only the final result was nice I hated working on them though
- Trigonometric equations - meh, free marks but boring

Used to be stats. Now it's undefined

The financial maths in 2u I almost rote learnt it. I didn't fully understand the process until after the trials back then for 2u

Geometry

I just tend not to 'see' what I'm meant to be looking for sometimes and/or I miss the piece of information that's like the crux of the whole question
I'm pretty sure it's basically just practice though ahaha, so gg keep grinding

Yup exactly like you, financial maths is agony for me. Even more than that is perms and combs (probability in general). Other than those two, the rest is pretty fine. Used to hate statistics and stuff, but good thing it's gone now lol

Thing with geometry is to use your diagram. The hardest things in geometry are similar triangles and proving types of quadrilaterals. For other stuff such as alternate angles - honestly every time you see that sort of stuff on the diagram you should be labelling it.

But when I did 2u I spent at least 3 consecutive days working on the tests for a parallelogram. Then it became instructive from there. Once you can prove parallelogram everything else is easy

The massive loophole is probably getting your ratios mixed up in similar triangles. But tbh, the hardest geometry questions almost always incorporate them so they're my first on the list to worry about

I can't contribute to the math discussion, but everyone is doing English, so answer this?

Do you use single or double quotation marks, and in what context?

I'm more inclined to use single (even for direct quotes), whereas my friend uses double. Now we're debating which is the Australian way lol.

I thought Australia followed British english, and that double quotation marks were American - but - neither are incorrect.. ?

Single - may be used for sarcasm, or used to put emphasis
Double - proper quotation

That is me. Personally I never felt that single quotation marks around quotes were justified - this wasn't something i related to American and British English

Thanks lee and Shuuya.
I guess it comes down to personal preference.

I'm working on an English assignment atm & I've noticed I've used single quotations for most tasks, and double for a few. The teacher didn't correct either though, so I was like wth :confused2:

According to my friend I'm still wrong lol

Tfw you have to cut down a 1600 word essay into less than 600 words so that it doesn't go over the time limit :/

It makes sense to say it is a matter of preference but I feel using single quotation marks a bit wrongly used. Of course, in proper texts I've seen both happen too.

I thought you done your HSC in '15 lol
It's called trolling
