Why does Engineering Studies scale badly? (1 Viewer)

I'm currently doing engineering studies as one of my subjects for the HSC and have seen/heard people say that it's scaling is pretty bad. I know that you needed a 72 raw mark for a band 6 as my teacher told us since he's a HSC marker. The content isn't light either.

What makes it scale badly opposed to other subjects?

What makes it scale badly opposed to other subjects?

Scaling is only dependent on the quality of the candidature. If a course scales poorly, it means the cohort on average performed worse in their other subjects compared to that subject. In the eyes of UAC, they perceive the course as having students who are poor performers on average so their marks are adjusted accordingly.
