How do we stop these random accounts from being created and posting links to stream sites and whatever else?
Is there something the community can do?

P.S. I realise that the title of this thread is misleading, oops

two things:
- report to moderators
- don't reply to them (spambots are easily to spot because they generally have no replies)

We are working out more permanent measures as we speak.

Thanks, i love reporting those spammy posts, but it is a bit annoying waiting 60 seconds to report another post. Esp if there are like 10 spam posts, perhaps that timer can be reduced?

You can just comment on the number you see in a particular forum when you report one.
