cos 2x = 1 - 2sin^2x

Using this, you can rearrange equation 1 so it is sin (theta) = x/2

Rearrange equation 2 so it is in terms of sin (using double angle conversion in first line)

Then sub equation 1 into equation 2 and obtain Cartesian equation.

It is square rooted. Essentially with the equation given, you want to sub in a large value for x (don't need to test for negative infinity) as graph is even. For example, if you sub in x = 1000, the exponential term will approach zero. Thus, 1 - (something approximate 0) = approximate 1. For square root graphs, y intercepts and horizontal asymptotes are both square rooted. Thus, the square root of 1 (which is horizontal asymptote) is just 1.
