Had my bio exam yesterday but didn't have a chance to come here and discuss. It was easy imo, and I literally finished in an hour 💀
omg so true i finished it half an hour before the test ended, but then i get paranoid that if i finished it too early that means something was definitely wrong so i go over it like 5 times 💀

literally me, I read over it all soooo many times and counted all the questions to ensure I didn't miss a page or something

Got my result for Maths Advanced......... 74 / 80 (~93%)
I'm pretty happy with that, I didn't get any question completely wrong (except for one 1 marker ) and I just lost a couple marks here and there for silly little errors. I think my main issue was time, as I wasn't able to check my answers, hence the silly mistakes which were very much avoidable.
I was first in class, which was pretty expected as my class only has two people XDDD

Ayy, nice job!

Also, two people?? That's extremely small, how big is your cohort?

that's a tough question actually, there's probably ~60 enrolled but only like 20-30 who show up consistently, there are like 10-15 people who are actually getting an ATAR  My English Advanced has 6 people......
For MX1 and EX1 I actually do them cross-campus, so combined with two other schools in the area. My MX1 has 6 people (just me from my school, 1 from another, and 3 from the third school (the third school is the largest school of the 3 by about 300 students, and the class is hosted there). My EX1 has 8 (just me again from mine, 3 from the second school (where it is hosted), and 4 from the third).

The small cohorts are actually pretty good, and the best part is that everyone in these classes achieve pretty well so the rankings are quite competitive. My biology class was pretty large for Yr11 but more than half the class is dropping it for Yr12 (because it's "too hard"), so we'll have a class of about 6, which is great (the teacher is amazing as well!)

What's it like doing it cross campus? Do you have to attend classes at one of those schools, or is it online (like on zoom)? It sounds fun to meet with people from other schools

It's on campus! And yeah it is super fun, I don't really enjoy EX1 but I LOVE the people in the class (we have so much fun BEFORE class starts XD )

I also got maths extension and chemistry and it really surprised me how poorly many people did…

I got 93% in maths extension which was the highest mark by 20% (class of 12 people), and the average was 37%
And I got 80% in chem which was also the highest in my class by 20 marks (someone beat me from the other class though)

Joys of going to a low ranking school I guess, rank 1 at my school is like average at some people’s schools here though
that's still so incredible, even from a low-ranking school

Hey everyone!!! First day back today for most of us, how are we feeling thus far? I got my results for 3 subjects today 😏
Feeling alright! Got 3 exams back today as well. Tomorrow I have study leave for the Japanese HSC on Wednesday (did you know that there's a strike on Wednesday? It's a bit bruh showing up to school and no-one will be there 💀)

I did better than I expected, especially for maths (I actually thought I was going to crash and burn for mx1), chemistry I think I should have read some of the questions properly :').

Also good luck with your exam 😭
Thanks!

How’d you go?
I was pretty happy with my results!
Business: 73/80 (1st)
English Advanced: 60/60 (1st by 11 marks  I was shocked)
Chemistry: 45/75 (1st 💀 the person who came second literally got 25/75)

I have decided that I will not drop business for the HSC, and will have 12 units rather than 10 (in case I flunk the chemistry exam, I can't drop chem as it's a prereq for the course I am leaning towards atm, and I also do enjoy it)
I actually did really well in section 2 of the chemistry exam, however I fully flunked the multiple choice..... I think this honestly just came down to lack of practice under timed conditions. I did the mcq's last, which I am glad of, however I had to rush through them and thus did not do a great job.

I definitely did not apply myself to my full potential throughout year 11, I had a pretty lazy study approach (basically crammed in the days before exams) and I am definitely going to start putting in a more consistent effort for year 12.

Edit:
I mentioned this here a little while ago but I also got 74/80 (1st) in Maths Advanced, I found out today that the one other person in my class got 27 or something 😭 😭
