Yeah but there was some disease that happened with them (I'm not too sure - we learnt about them recently for Mod 7 and I guess I thought it applies for artificial pollination but idrk)

'Purple Straw' variety was crossed with an Indian wheat variety, 'Yandilla', to create a new variety called 'Federation Wheat'. This new variety had increased disease resistance (from the indian variety) and was more tolerant of Australian climatic conditions (from the purple straw)"

i don't think the syllabus asks u to give examples when analysing the effectiveness of artificial pollination in specificity tho, they might just ask abt the effectiveness of genetic manipulation in plants and u can talk abt other things instead (eg gene cloning etc)
