1) apply for uac undergrad - need to pay regardless --do this early
2) apply for srs (school recommends you to unis etc) - free
3) look around for uni courses you are interested in and set them as your five UAC preferences https://www.uac.edu.au/assets/documents/uac-guide/uac-guide-2023-24.pdf
4) apply for EAS if needed
5) apply for scholarships etc and programs if you want to directly via universities (e.g., BIT CoOp at UTS --closed already lol)

anyways yeah hope that helps with the process

after we get our hsc marks from nesa on 14th december, uac will release the ATAR
we use this ATAR to get into specific uni courses, and we have some time to change our preferences (e.g., when you get 40* and can't get into med anymore - rip)

anyways yeah idrk what else to put

Basically uni is tertiary education and allows you to persue a bachelors, masters and PhD and in uni you typically focus on one discipline which will be what your degree is on. Bachelor tends to be furthering your education by learning in relative depth about topics that relate to your chosen degree but you can do a thesis through what is called Honours which adds an extra year but can be quite handy if you decide to go for post-graduate study.

After the bachelors you can persue a Masters or a PhD. Masters is typically split into Masters by course work or research and a PhD and is how people earn the title of Doctor without becoming a medical doctor. For a PhD thesis you have to basically write about a unique topic. Although I would say you shouldn't really worry about this stuff for now.
