I doubt I'd actually get that, but I'm in yr 10 rn and wanna aim as high as possible. Where do I start?
99.95 is actually really really hard to get. 99.95 means youre in the top 0.05 of the entire state. if youre trying to get a really high atar i guess you could start now by starting to get into the routine of study in year 10, like sitting down for 1 hour or 30 minutes a day at the same time everyday to just work.

Pick high scaling subjects: 4u maths, sciences, etc
Be tutored (resources, question banks, etc) (unfortunately, nsw school system and the tutoring system are mutually beneficial to each other so if you find a good tutoring place, the advantage you have is crazy)
Finish content few terms before hsc, and grind past papers and question banks like your life depends on it

yea my subject choices aren't very high scaling, ima forget abt the 99.95 and look at just a 98.00+ now T-T.
My subjects are: Chem, Physics, Math adv, Eng adv, Music 1, business studies, sor 1(mandatory).

They'd kill me T-T
My mum might be fine with it, she wants me to be happy. My dad's in the academic field and wants me to get a high atar atleast 97 so i can choose the direction of my life and I'm fine with working hard to achieve that

Unless you're pursuing law or med, any atar above 95 is enough to get into any degree (considering if you took your subjects based off of selection points)

also if you have a job you may want to save up money throughout yr 11 while working, then quit in year 12 and just coast of those savings. preferably if youre saving up for a car, a rental bond, or something else that youre buying in the future, put that money into a savings account with interest.

the majority of people are fine with a job in year 12 and get through fine. though if youre aiming for a crazy high atar, and you have poor time management, it may be worth considering quitting or reducing hours.

Thanks for your advice!!, I plan on doing some work experience or maybe a part time job not sure where yet though, my dad doesn't want me working at cafes or fast food places T-T and I can't find good internships/part-time that are preferably in the medical field, stem or music.

internships and experience in med/stem (not sure about music) in year 10 is 💀
At this stage, if you get it, it's purely nepotism unless you're some genius prodigy that has 3 patents already
Just do fast food or, better, retail, even cafes are a nice job in hs, your dad needs to chill out

just note that music 1 scaling is genuinely horrible (unless you get like 99 or 100), so either consider changing that to something else, or drop it after year 11. chem, phys, mathadv, engadv, and business are fine if ur aiming for 99.95, but ur gonna need to get really high marks in them
