So I just finished my chem prelims and wanna know what important stuff from yr 11 comes in 12
Is there things from the shittest module (module 1) that is important to know for year 12
what about module 4 -> we were only tested up to hess law (no gibbs free or enthalpy) so are those stuff important for year 12

From mod 1 you will need to understand intermolecular forces for mod 7 organic chem when you are looking at the properties of different hydrocarbons and functional groups. From mod 4 you need enthalpy and entropy and Gibbs free energy for mod 5

Make sure you're good at all of your calculations (Module 2, iirc) because stoichiometry and all of that is assumed knowledge.

Ensure you know how to find the molecular formula from empirical units as well because it comes up in Module 8.
mod 2 and 3 are lightwork its just mod 1 thats such a headache

If it's any consolation, I completely skipped Module 4 in Year 11 and went straight into Year 12 and I was fine. In my opinion, Year 12 content is MUCH better than Year 11
wait actual?? so your telling me that I dont need to care about gibbs free energy and enthalpy in yr 11?

I picked it up in Year 12 and I was fine. It would be ideal if you did learn it in Year 11, but for me, I wasn't really disadvantaged and actually did better than my classmates who did pay attention to it.

The main things I've seen is just knowing how to calculate enthalpy (products minus reactants) and entropy (products minus reactants), and gibbs (which is given on the data sheet). Year 12 covers the interpretation of all of that anyway.
