Now that it's hustle period, and we seriously need to get our asses studying, in what creative ways have u guys been procrastinating?

During this period I've slowly become addicted to google street view - i.e. putting the street view person in a completely random place and exploring it. Hong Kong, Toyko, Tel Aviv, Bangkok, Jakarta, and the 'stan' countries (e.g. Kazakstan), are all good shouts. I've never been a fan of European or American street view, cause I kinda know what everything looks like.

I've also started watching long-ass source code analyses like this and this, and people literally just walking around an area with a camera in hand like this and this.

In other words, brainrot has properly manifested this study season 😭.

I've started designing and creating a whole game and working on my computer science skills in the inevitable event that I flunk out of engineering or medicine and become a broke freelance programmer begging on the streets of Fiverr. "$5 for a website? Spare change for a video game?"

It sounds like you've got some top-tier procrastination skills going on, exploring the virtual world through Google Street View and diving deep into source code analysis videos! You’re definitely not alone — "study season brainrot" hits hard.

Personally, I’ve seen people go down creative rabbit holes too:

  • Binging obscure YouTube documentaries about niche topics no one asked for, like the history of random household items.
  • Hyper-focusing on organizing notes: It's technically productive, but sometimes turns into color-coding and reformatting old notes instead of learning new material.
  • Satisfying cleaning sprees: Suddenly, scrubbing every surface in the house seems like an urgent priority (even though it wasn’t for the last 6 months).
  • TikTok black holes: "I’ll just check one video," and then suddenly an hour later, you're deep into conspiracy theories or cake-decorating videos.
  • Learning a new hobby: I know people who've picked up knitting or painting, just for the sake of feeling busy but not studying.
Brainrot is real! Maybe trying to balance these guilty pleasures with some structured study sessions could work out better? A little reward system with Street View exploration as a break?

How are you planning to snap out of this and get back into study mode? Or are we still in the "denial phase" of productivity? 😅

I get you, man. The denial phase is way too real — one minute you're casually choosing subjects, thinking "I've got time," and the next minute you're drowning in study guides and past papers like, "Wait, hold up, how did we get here?"

It’s like time did some weird fast-forward trick on us, and now we’re here pretending the exams aren't right around the corner. Denial's probably the strongest coping mechanism of Year 12, honestly.

But hey, it might not feel like it now, but this whole "senior year panic" will be over soon. Until then, we just gotta face the grind (even if denial is still lurking in the background). You gonna ride out that denial wave a little longer, or are you thinking of jumping into the last-minute hustle soon? 😅

I have been making a cute little town in a cute little game i found and its adorable,

Im also trying to figure out how plotting a quadratic formula on a graph works...i don't do maths, I'm terrible at it practically, but i still really like the subject so i have been re-teaching it to myself in a way that i understand. Ie, knowing how mathematics actually works rather than just memorising a formula. I find it hard to apply unless i understand what its doing. Its really calming, maths...i do way too many humanities and so having something more structured is lovely!
