the arguments you make are not political but rather conceptually how:

in the crucible, the existence of absolute ideologies drives individuals to conform to collective belief as a form of self preservation. other individuals may manipulate the collective through these ideologies to consolidate their own personal power, leading to devastating consequences. however, the anomalous individual, acting on personal motivations or wtever, pursues personal truths rather than the falsehoods perpetuated by others when they conform, and ultimately liberate themselves from the collective.

similarly, in GNGL, the ideological polarisation of society induces a collective fear of the "other", driving the concealment of truth across society. again, it is only when an individual chooses to elevate truth, at the possible expense of themselves, that society may be liberated from the perpetual cycle of mistruths and fear. (except in here you're meant to argue about the role of media in both facilitating and dismantling this cycle)

while yes, some teachers are indeed quite political with the way they "teach" this film/module, you should be thinking conceptually rather than politically about the role of media in society.

the context you should be focusing on is the 1950s and post 9/11 society. referencing trump isn't very helpful imo, they just did it here to highlight the continual usage of media to perpetuate a fear of the ethnic other.
