if you're rank 1 then you have a slight chance, if not then there's low possibility unless you do a subject with a small candidature where the state rank mark is a bit lower. But if it's maths yea prequisite is literally rank 1 cause it's based off your internal + external, and if you're not first it'll be pretty hard to get state rank considering that the person above you has to state rank as well.

To answer your question:

it's based off your final HSC mark which is combination of internal and external marks, so yea.

yes very optimal ive done it on every exam so far and been promised 14 units worth of state ranks, (my last 2 units they didnt reckon the job was good enough rip)

the older the invigilator the better cuz their expectations will be lower, younger ones r a no go pretty sure i caught two of mine goofing around in one of my exams some weird noises coming from them
