I feel like they're gonna do a question regarding ethics iirc I haven't seen any questions in regards to ethics + gonna make us evaluate a method as a 15 marker or smth like the last few years
ive js made a full summary and done timed responses for the questions in the past papers

yeah that makes sense I don't think they would do a question without a stimulus, we had a 15 marker for evaluating influence of ethics on a poster for an opt in study so at least Im a bit prepared LMAO i rlly hope they dont ask anything significant abt the project though I haven't made any notes in relation to it or done many questions which ask for reference to the project

also prep urself for a video and questions asked based on it! i also made a buncha mnemonics to help w/ memorising rules for stats like if the chi is high null says bye or if the p is low the null must go. alsooo try to memorise some case studies to support ur point even if the question doesn't specify it (like capsaicin study, pascal's principle, etc).

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to practise analysing data tables esp with comparing bw two different data sets. i remember that this formed a large bulk of the more difficult questions in my exam

Personally I had a lot of fun w my project (effect of teflon nanoplastics on growth of microalgae) and I really enjoy the theory material, if u wanna do science in uni I'd say its probably a little useful bc it gets you a head start on stats and all that.

BUT it is a lot of time, at least I found it that way bc I did a first hand investigation. Depending on your school you'll probably do 2nd hand cause it's money + time + resources to run first hand (I got $100 budget for my project and ended up spending $150 of my own money haha). Most people I know who've done have either done 2nd hand or first hand (usually in a bio field). As far as I know 2nd hand projects are a little less time consuming but it really depends on the field and how much data is available for you to use.

I rlly don't recommend doing it if ur gonna end up with 13 units cause I spent a good 4 weeks (at least) of free periods on my project, also my grades for my other sciences (bio + chem) dropped a little bc I had a little less time to dedicate to them. That being said it really depends how much you like science, personally I've always been passionate about it and don't regret picking the course but if you don't feel that strongly about it I probably wouldn't go about picking it

Lmk if u have any further questions abt it tho :)

for human experimentation what case study did you use? bc we did stanford prison experiment, HeLa cells and I have a little on testing drugs but idk if there's any better ones out there that suit the syllabus dotpoint better

i memorised just a brief outline of it so that i can at least name acts or legislation. also on a global basis for topics like environmental protection and ethics i just listed what COP26 + Paris Agreement + Kyoto Protocol was to show how governments have a hand in the management and acting upon of ethical codes
