Does anyone know if we need to know the theories behind colourimetry, UV-Vis, AAS, mass spec, IR and NMR? The theory are pretty physics heavy so idk if they can get you to explain how the machine works, so would it be more like application and some multi questions?
we need to know theory

I would just know the basics of how they work, they could possibly asked very deeply as well, so best to know it

wait is alignment scaling? Because no way in 2023, a raw mark of 88 only goes to 91 aligned mark
nah alignment is how ur raw marks gets converted to an aligned mark that u see as ur hsc mark but scaling applies for ur atar calculation

Surely we don't need to remember the entire structure of a polymer like Nylon 6,6, right? Will they give us a stimulus?

pretty sure you do, it's not that hard tho the 6 tells u the number of carbons then u js gotta remember it's joined by an amide group

Do we, I thought they usually give the condensation polymers and then tell you to show the monomer, but you have to remember the addition polymers for sure.
