Thanks! This year's scaling would be lower than 2022 and 2023 right? 86% for band 6 last year was crazy, hopefully its around 80% this year...
i think they dedicate 1 mark to sig figs throughout the paper. if you messed up in that one question than you lose the mark but otherwise they dont care.does anybody know if the hsc markers are lenient about significant figures if u got the working out correct and were just one decimal off the sig fig
ohhhhh okay coz I did that in three questions and was extremely annoyed with myself for that thinking that I lost three marks.i think they dedicate 1 mark to sig figs throughout the paper. if you messed up in that one question than you lose the mark but otherwise they dont care.
Probably 70s max 75have you guys estimated + heard any estimates about scaling? it was a pretty difficult test right?
I'm estimating a raw 60.
That’s what I was thinking but I wasn’t sure how well the first option fit either so I just went with BSame, but why did Q2 option B say low solubility toxin, I thought cycasin was highly soluble?
Hey, it specified low solubility because it mentions "flowing water," if it was highly soluble, then the flowing water would not have been necessary for "several days," which they also specified. It was simply to match the context.Same, but why did Q2 option B say low solubility toxin, I thought cycasin was highly soluble?
me too i started doubting myself but it made more sense than A so i did itThat’s what I was thinking but I wasn’t sure how well the first option fit either so I just went with B
what raw mark will scale to a b6 this year? better scaling than 2023?me too i started doubting myself but it made more sense than A so i did it
man i could not tell you ik nothing ab this stuffwhat raw mark will scale to a b6 this year? better scaling than 2023?
Chem is amazing, actually a subject that I might miss studying. Physics fr just get it done and over with pleaseBro how tf do teachers say physics is the hardest science with a straight face. Chem looks horrible
Probably around there, I expect B5 to be around raw 70 -72surely it would be like 84
i think a bit higher than that bc it was an easy test. maybe 75Probably around there, I expect B5 to be around raw 70 -72
You reckon? Cos 2023 was 72 to a b5 and I feel like they were either very similar in difficulty or this was a little more difficult in terms of some calculations.i think a bit higher than that bc it was an easy test. maybe 75
there was not a lot of calculations in this paper if i remember correctly, maybe 20 marks and explain/justify questions are generally easierYou reckon? Ig we'll just have to see, but I think 75 is still a little harsh since in other years (although more difficult) a 75 did manage to go to a mid B5.there was not a lot of calculations in this paper if i remember correctly, maybe 20 marks and explain/justify questions are generally easier
91 is an ok mark i guess. this test was like the easiest chem HSC I've seen so you might end up with a 87-85 scaled. you should be ok tho gis a band 6 possible for me? i am ranked fourth at school, 4 marks behind rank one (raw internal marks) and i am predicting a raw mark of 91 from today's hsc
