Here's a few scenarios:
1. As a young women (a minor) you have dreams, but you get sexually asulted/raped and got pregnant. The child wasn't born out of love, you would have to give up ur dreams if you go through with it. But NO you HAVE TO give birth because it's a crime to not to, so fcking give up on ur dreams and goals. Everytime you look at ur child you'll get ptsd of that one guy who put you through torture
2. After a medical assessment --> you find out that if you give birth you will die. But NO you have to die, because ur child's life is more important than you. (obv this is to the mothers choice atm, whether they'd want to go through with it or not)
3. oH My GoSH, the child could've become the next influential person. twat what abt you? why aren't you the fcking president? and what abt the mothers dreams and life? she could've been an influential person.
4. Once you had gotten pregnant you find out that the child has a health issue. You are financially/mentally unstable, meaning as a parent you will not be able to pay attention to the child as money is important to survive, unable to give them love and care... (continue to 5th scenario)
5. Have you ever heard the saying all children deserve parents but not all parents deserve children? if the parent is a drug addicts/have mental/physical issues, knows that they will not be able to take care of their child, do they still have to give birth? You wouldn't want the child to go through stuff like that would you, growing up and basically raising themselves (especially if they have health issues not in their control). I doubt you would want to go through that too.
-----Oh but you could just give them up to adoption/foster care
- Within the first year of children leaving foster care (thehomestretch.org.au)
- 30% are homeless
- 46% of boys and 22% of girls are in the criminal justice system
- 54% have mental health issues
- 30% are unemployed
- 17% are pregnant during adolescence
Basically according to the the 5th point ---> for a fifth of the fostered children the cycle could just repeat over again.
Hence I think parents should have the choice. But If religious wise you want to follow certain methods then go for it! just don't force other people into it.
