what month/year should you start studying for ucat? how long does it take to understand the concepts? what are some recommended study methods for ucat?

Depends on your style of study. Do you get burnt out doing the same thing over and over? Then don't start too early, instead start 3-4 months before your exam.
I'd say start familiarising yourself with the exam style early next year. Then you can slowly focus on specific sections and time yourself while identifying any weaknesses.
I'd recommend Medify because it has a really nice website set up that helps you track your progress. Or you could just use the official UCAT practice tests on their website.

It really depends on you as a person but that's what I'd recommend. Good luck :)

if you are doing ucat in y12, ideally first term of year 12 if not start before term 1 year 12 are good times to start to make sure you're not screwing your trials up for last minute ucat cramming.

if you haven't started i would do a diagnostic test rn (i think maybe there are some free ones online) and figure out how cooked you are and decide how much practise you need.
