Currently taking Adv. Eng with the hopes of getting into Ext.1 for Year 12, if I can prove myself. Is the jump dramatic?

Yes, I would be taking Ext before hand because dropping down is easier than going up, but my school doesn’t offer Ext right off the bat because EALD is the biggest English class

I thought you couldn't go into Ext English if you didn't pick it originally in year 10?

my school doesn't let you move up in year 12 unless its ext1 to ext2

That’s what I mean. I’m taking English Advanced in the hopes of going into Ext1 in Year 12, however it is easier to pick Ext.1 in Year 10- but my school doesn’t allow that.

Taking English Extension 1 in year 12 requires the completion of the English Extension year 11 course. The same applies to Mathematics Extension 1. If you do not take and complete the year 11 course, you will not be eligible to take the year 12 course. This is part of NESA subject rules and does not depend on individual schools. :)

contact ur school asap to get in for year 11. English extension is so much easier. I'm not exaggerating at all when I say that after trials, I didn't study Eng Ext 1 until the morning of the hsc exam, and literally got a 47 (and i didnt get pulled up by my rank). It's a lot more conceptual so if your good at waffling, its so easy to get good at ext1
