How tf do I write introductions (1 Viewer)

I am in need of desperate help. My english exam is next week and it's two essays on two texts that we read and I am completely fucked on how to begin an essay especially with introductions. Once I get my (very shitty) introduction done I cruise through with the rest of my essay. Does anyone else have this issue where you get a major block in the introduction?? Is there anything I need to know on how to write a good thesis to answer the question without repeating it?

Always use the language of the question. You don't need to totally regurgitate the question, but use the key words of the question thoroughly throughout your thesis. Maybe come up with a quick plan first for your body paragraph? Then once you have a rough idea what you're gonna write about, make sure your introduction encompasses all those ideas. It kind depends on what Mod it is too. Unlike comm mod, mod A and/or B requires more contextual information. Also include relevant language from the modules' respective prescription.

Am I meant to use like really complex language in my thesis bc i get discouraged from seeing my friend's thesis statements and he uses a lot of them as well as getting really high marks in english and I know I'll never be able to compete

The better the vocab the better your thesis honestly, coming from someone in adv vocab is rly important. However your vocab should be subject related only. You can get used to subject specific terminology or vocab by doing practice essays. Or in this case, if you're under time pressure you could just do practice thesis'.

Yeah totally. I personally use https://www.powerthesaurus.org/
Just type in a word in and it give you a better synonym for that word.
