Hi guys,

My attendance has been dog water this year. Term 1 was around 90%, term 2 is gonna be abt 80-85%.
I've missed about 9 full days of school (sickness+holiday), but i have 19 partially missed.
The thing with the partially missed tho, is that i dislocated my shoulder a few weeks ago, so i missed about 5 partial days cos of doctors and stuff, and i struggled with my health in the mornings for abt 7 days (no doctors note tho). The other partially missed days i was just late by like 5 mins lol.
I guess my final question is do you think this will impact my chances of getting into a selective school?

Thanks

i don't think it matters as much as grades + extracurriculars? although the most important thing is doing well in the actual test ofc, so focus on that. does your school include attendance in your reports? cus if they do then the school you're trying to transfer to will likely see it and that may affect whether they accept you or not. but yeah just try your best in the actual test cause thats the most important, and if the school you're trying to transfer to does Edutest instead of HAST i can dm you some notes :)

should be fine, my attendace in term 2 was similar last yr and i made it into sydney girls this yr. i think as along as u are top with ur subjects and do well in the entry test u should be fine. most schools look at ur entry exam marks first and chose before checking the rest of ur stuff (reports, extra cirricular etc)

Alr guys thanks, unfortunately the record does show up on my report but I should be able to explain it. My academics are pretty good (few major in school awards + academic scholarship 2 years ago), but my english marks have had a bad drop off.

oh rip :(
do u have any extracurriculars? i think you should be ok if u got good grades and ofc remember to study for edutest but i think you know that haha. extracurriculars can really increase the chances of acceptance, it helps the school decide if you're a good fit for them basically(i have more details about it in the notes i sent you!)

I play for the school football team and i've won a few individual awards for that, i play bass guitar and im in 3 bands for school (we've come first and second place in the sydney eistedfodd for our div- is that something i can put on the application?), but apart from that most of my application will be based on individual/gorup awards i've won (aus history comp, da vinci decathlon, etc)
