Mathematics Advanced 2024 28(c) ferris wheel question

The advanced solution is shitty, learn from the extension 2 solution as it's less confusing. Basically just solve without minus sign and show that it's impossible, then add a minus sign to rhs and you get the solutions from there.

This isn't common sense either, you had to learn this somewhere. Now where did people learn this?

do u mean the 2π-X part or the -X part bc at that point theyre astc for equivalence

Okay I just learnt it using the Maths extension 2 method (which is much better than the advanced method), now I can solve the 2024 advanced one. Imagine if this was put in the textbooks, I would've been able to solve it on the day
