honestly im not too sure. i dont think u can for hsc but i think ur school would let you for internal exams. u should ask a teacher

yeah it says use a black pen for the hsc, so i dont think u can do graphs in pen for the hsc. but this is for finals

i posted these questions in the gc chat but no one saw it lol so:

yk how ur not meant to be using your calculator during maths reading time? you can look at ur formula sheet right?


also if it gets to that point, id probs be desperate and do it anyways but for questions where it tells u not to do any further working out and draw the graph or smth from what you have alr worked out, will you just not get the marks if u have to use more working out to do the Qn?

Just do the working out in the multiple choice section, they can’t stop you doing that I suppose

they will never say "don't do more working out" besides "Do not prove" which is just there so you don't waste your time

that's only there so you don't waste your time. It basically meant you don't need to find the turning points, just sketch with the correct intercepts. If you did use calculus, I don't think you'd lose marks.

I think that 4 marker ferris wheel equation and 4 marker financial math table question are to blame. the rest of the paper looks standard.

2021 still aligned better than 2024. however nobody got 100 raw mark in 2024 unlike 2021

apparently this paper is gonna be heavy on calculus and statistical analysis, with financial math and trig being the next 2 popular topics. Always count on an applied trig question, a present/future value question, and a normal loan repayment type financial math question. I think they can ask more questions like, "compare the scatter plots/box and whisker plots" like they did in 2024, which threw a lot of people off so be careful about that. calculus is calm not that much to do there, and same with normal distribution related things asw
