What year do you graduate

Also, I'd like to be able to live... Well, not any further west than St Mary's perhaps, because I'll reach a point where transport to uni will also become an unrealistic fee.
i graduate this year and i live in the further southwest of Sydney, as long as ur near a station that gets to the city u should be fine i think concession cards might exist for uni students? not sure but if sydney is too expensive (which it is) if possible move to another state such as adelaide or perth which are much cheaper and education wise they alright

DO NOT MOVE TO PERTH! Especially as someone who just graduated from high school, the renting crisis there is absolutely not good for you. The rent may be cheaper then sydney but the salary you get won't correlate well with rent.

lowk not hard to find a shit hole just for yourself (no roommate) everything included to live in for like 350 pw. If ur primary goal is to get away the living conditions should be irrelevant + 350$ for rent is easily achievable as uni student with the help from the government thing --> however this does mean you can't spend 14$ on a vodka redbull on a friday night out.

I'm worried about moving my things too. I have a lot of things I am (regretfully) attached to which I'd rather not have them throw out or burn as soon as I leave. Of course, I'd need my clothing and documents (passport, birth certificate, etc.).
I think most ways of moving items are self explanatory (keep it at a friends house, drive it in a car...) But if anyone has any suggestions?

It may be around. Hm. Four 50L containers worth of things IN MY DEFENNSEE I have a lot of textiles and fabrics I've paid GOOD MONEY FOR which is about 2 containers. Ohh I'm rambling. I am so worried...

I know this is extremely unrealistic but I'm. Desperate to and I'd like any advice I can get, in case anyone is in a similar situation or knows someone who is.
you want to move out and do uni. if you're on track to a decently good atar (75+) would you consider going to ADFA? then again, that's a whole new topic.

its doable but miserable, i wouldn't recommend it unless you have absolutely no choice, assuming you mean with no financial or parental support. centrelink and 2 jobs got me over the line but i couldn't afford to go out or spend money on anything but basic necessities. there's no way you can afford your own place, uni accomodation is probably more expensive than a sharehouse or roommate and you get to live in a shoebox. you basically need to be ready to make immense sacrifices and dig yourself into a hole you won't be getting out of anytime soon.

pack essentials bring what you can but ultimately you will have to sacrifice it. u could drop stuff off slowly to a friends place overtime or hire a locker to leave stuff in.

Im hoping to get 85+, which I think is achievable.
Do you have any insight into the experience of ADFA?

Did you have youth allowance? How long did you live like that?

theres a few things u have to look out for:
1. bond
2. moving costs
3. phone plan/internet plan
4. streaming shit
5. food
6. cleaning
7. traansport

you need to make a buffer savings fund of around 1.5k for things you gonna miss out on - i didnt and I got cooked I was really stressed for quite a while cos there were so many hidden expenses

What is bond? Are streaming things really necessary?

no not necessary but ur a university student I understand you think you're in a movie the kid that is isolated and working really hard to pull through life but no you still need to enjoy ur life. There are plenty of positives of not having parental restrictions make sure you look at the positives aswell and try to embrace them instead of simmering in misery and trying to "work my way through a hard time". So if you are currently using it then I think you will conitnue using it

Bond is something like 2 weeks of rent you pay when renting a place incase you damage the place etc. etc. they wont pay it back its insurance for the renter

Bond is smth u have to pay before u rent out a house and it’s usually 4x weeks worth of ur rent

it’s like a security thing and when u move out of the house is in good condition u get it all back, if u leave the house in a bad condition they use ur bond to fix stuff and u lose money from the bond that you’ve given

You can leave them at home temporarily if it's hard to take all of them at once. You have atleast 3 years in uni unless you overload. You probably should ask your parents to see if they have any space to keep them, and then when you're prepared you can deliver them to your new address. That's what I did. I didn't take everything at once.

yes i had youth allowance. you are considered a dependent until 21 unless you apply directly to centrelink under an exemption if your parents are not going to support you. i lived like that for around 5 years until i graduated and started on a full time salary.
