Yeppp UNSW so I'm looking forward to having you in my cohort! Haha I didn't do E2 maths either, so you might need to ask someone else :) I can, however, help you with economics. Eco is my fave, and I'm glad you're developing an interest in it!
I assumed you did e2 for some reason my bad... ALSO YOUR ATAR IS ACTUALLY INSANE??? Can i ask what you got in e1 maths?

Haha nw, I actually did e2 for a while but I decided to drop it instead of one of my other subjects, bc I was too attached to all of them lol

Thanks! I got 47 in e1, so not that impressive, but I'm happy with it

Girl i got 43 so you’re all good
I genuinely am fearing for my life for ACTL next year, because idk if I’m smart enough right now. I couldn’t get a band E4 in E1 and so many people say doing well in 3U and 4U is a necessary benchmark. Did you also not understand some concepts in extension 1? Like I knew the basic stuff of everything but when it came to specific questions with vectors, geometric proofs, combinatorics, etc. I was lost asf.
I’m thinking of doing something else out of fear lol
I also kinda don’t deserve gateway because I don’t financially match the circumstances of most kids in gateway (low income area + good educaiton) .... so sometimes I fear I have no reason to be doing actl

43 is still pretty good! I actually got a 46 exam mark, but my internals were higher. I don't think alignment was very good for e1 this year. I also struggled with vector applications a lot so dw. I think e1/e2 maths can be "cheated" by spamming tons of practice questions and attending literal bootcamps like Du and Kurt, but they are extremely difficult in nature.

If it helps, I know a girl who barely scraped a b5 in maths adv, but did actl and is now in a trading firm. I really don't think HSC maths is a great benchmark for future performance in the subject, and if you're willing to put in the work and passion, then you should be fine.

Take the offer if it's given to you! Plenty of people get into actl with even lower ATARs

projectile motion is the best.
vectors are boring af tho
maybe its bc i just started projectile motion but so far it's just plugging variables in and rearranging to get whatever the question wants
pls tell me it gets more fun than that 😪

the funnest question is the 2025 projectile motion question. i thought id get an e4 from doing that question correctly but i missed out by like 2 marks on other questions cause of simple mistakes

I was just sad that they didn't award marks for deriving the equations of motion 😭 . Dumb blondes like me need all the help they can get 🥀.
