Oh, okay, so are you going to return it to its rightful owners?

Historically universities have always been hubs for left wing activism, just the demographic really. It's like if you went out to cattle farming country I doubt you would find many supporters of the Greens.

Legit question though, do people actually physically go to university anymore? I barely attended class when I went years ago - it seemed like a complete waste to me even back then? Good for making a few friends, but not much else. Worst financial decision of my life.

its an incredibly valid reason if youve expereinced being squished into the light rails every morning and afternoon. ask any unsw student or sb/sg student and theyll surely tell you how bad it gets. also some poeple dont wear deodrant/fragrances so the whole lr always gets hot and smells + everyone geniuenly ends up sqaushed to each others legs and arms

well it's only cause of the nasty south asian people who don't shower. they are everywhere in sydney and i doubt you can avoid them even when going to usyd

Cart before the horse, I stopped showing up to classes because I felt it was a waste. Confirmed when I started my internship in HR and was told to "look XYZ up in the award". I had no idea what that was - we were never taught about awards (a foundational element of HR practice). It was all wishy washy nonsense (leadership, basic org psych), not stuff that we needed like how to run a recruitment process, or how does a HRIS work.

Better yet, take my partner's experience in nursing. Three courses on Diversity and Inclusion, but when she started working she had to get separate training for taking blood and cannulating (draining time and money from a health system that has neither). Of course though, when her patients are in need of a rapid response, those three courses in D&I will prove vital in her lifesaving efforts (Im not against D&I, but at some point you have to admit that we have strayed).

Looks like sm of yall didn't hv an exactly enjoyable uni experience... I've had plenty of fun so far and I haven't had any issues with the politics etc ppl are talking abt.
For any prospective students reading this, I doubt wtv said in this forum is a common experience so u choose your own path. Uni life is what u make it out to be. If it sucks, 90% of the time thats cos ur not looking in the right direction.

The worst part about uni, is that I don't care about what I learn, and just want money. Kinda like HS, but at least more tolerable, since I don't study that dickless faggot billy elliot

I guess I can agree with you here. Uni socializing is optional. Lots of the people who bitch about uni social life, are teh same people who make no effort in societies and what not

I'm convinced the leftists were indoctrinated by NSW HSC English programs

yeah fair I can understand that uni isn’t a necessary step towards achieving life goals and being successful for a lot of ppl. altho I would think in a nursing degree or masters you get trained in taking blood and cannulating aren’t they like main tasks of a nurse? forgive my ignorance
but anyways it’s chill like no hate to uni haters it’s just that for some careers uni can be rlly valuable and sometimes the only path

also nobody gives a shit about student activism and it’s not a deciding factor when choosing to go to uni or picking a certain uni. if you want to be involved then you can but it’s got nothing to do with the quality of education or graduate outcomes, so to ask why do ppl study at xyz uni even tho students exercise their right to free speech makes no sense
