So the uni newcastle has a few free short courses on intro statistics, human biology etc that you can do for free and online. Does anyone know if any other unis do this as well? I managed to find a couple of the university of helsinki, and Adelaide and a couple of others have courses on edx but you need to pay to get a certificate. Does anyone know any similar ones that you don't need to pay for a certificate? Or at least low-level introductory courses?

I think it would be good if you determine what exactly is your goal. My recommendation is not to be concerned about cost and more focused education value. If you want you could look at certificates from Udemy or Coursera. Udemy is fairly cheap with courses about $20 and Coursera about $70.
